2 Santo Amaro | Nature’s Splendor
Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, breathtaking in its expanse, is the morning’s destination. Crystal-clear lagoon waters offer relaxation and a refreshing escape. An exhilarating quad bike tour is an ideal way to explore the park, with routes skirting emerald pools and verdant mangrove forests. Fauna, like slider turtles and the magnificent scarlet ibis, add to the park’s allure.

The city of Parnaíba makes its home along the banks of the river of the same name, its journey culminating in a spectacular merging with the Atlantic. Overlooking the Coreau River, the easy-going town of Camocim is a beach-goer’s dream, close to some of the region’s finest coastal gems. These include the spectacular Maceió Dunes — the deserted banks along Barra dos Remédios with its sand barrier curling into the sea — and Caraúbas Beach, a sweeping, sandy stage for rose-pink sunsets.

A half-day tour across the Coreau River leads to Jericoacoara, one of Brazil’s most iconic beaches. The cruise along the coast passes the grand dunes of Ilha do Amor and the kite surfers of Tatajuba. A secluded lagoon offers a chance to unwind, with hammocks strung invitingly over its transparent waters.
